Good guides of different kinds and specific backgrounds, like historians, art historians, architects, religious historians, guides for children or for college students: each one selected to meet each one’s interests, personal experiences and wishes.

A popular statement says that beauty lies in the eye of the beholder.

This quote is often understood as a statement about the sheer relativism of Art.
But to us, it means that beauty is visible to the ones who have the right instruments to see it.

Which is, indeed, what we believe a good guide should do:

making people aware about the context that lies behind a work of art, about the rules of the society that has produced it, and about the personalities, the wishes and the limits of the People that were involved into that.

Being a guide means to make the people able to look at art with their own eyes.

A customer told me once, thanking me after a Borghese gallery tour and hugging me:
“I am excited‎! You made me discover Bernini at 64 ! It’s incredible! ”.
He was happy, literally, and excited like a child, cause he was now able to see the beauty of a piece of marble from 1624.

Especially in the case of a kind of art coming from a different culture – either far away in time or in space – one needs instruments to look at it, and therefore to appreciate it.

It’s not a matter of being talented: it’s a matter of receiving all the necessary information to develop a personal opinion.

It requires time, passion and attention to the reactions of the people.

That’s why we don’t do group tours: our guides are only private guides.
